Juha Kaakinen tackled a serious topic — one that remains overlooked in Slovakia — the issue of homelessness. The challenge was to craft the talk so that it wouldn’t trigger prejudice among the audience right from the start. We built the foundation on facts and figures, and only then connected them to a more emotional message.
Juha’s talk continues to bring him collaboration offers and invitations to speak at other events, where he can further promote the Housing First approach to ending homelessness. And that was exactly the goal of his talk — and our preparation: to explain and raise awareness that Housing First is a valid and effective way to address homelessness.
Veronika’s coaching was extremely valuable when preparing my TEDxBratislava talk. She has a highly developed analytical skill to focus on essential key points and to understand the importance of relevant context. Her comments encouraged me to say more with less (words).
